I was hired by Heartwood Projects LLC to design a unique web experience based on the owner Chris' ideas.
For this project, it was my duty to design various products Chris requested on an evolving schedule. This page
showcases my creative response to atypical design requests and technical prowess in actualizing these design concepts for accessibility.
Logo Design
Iterations
Chris had a strong understanding of what he wanted for his logo. For the logo iterations, I helped give his thoughts form and guided him along the creation process.
Final Logos
I supplied Heartwood Preojects with a full color logo and a black & white variant.
Each logo was presented with and without text.
Website Design
Chris wanted to create a more experimental approach with his website. Allured by a space concept, he requested a website where the "pages" orbited like planets.
I created a script for the orbiting to be scalable so that active planets had an increased lighting and hover effect.
On the back-end Chris can change the orbiting patterns by a click of a button. I added a HUD to make up for accessibility issues on smaller devices.

Chris requested the marriage of wood crafting with space for the website.
To capture that language, I created various planets and the logo in blender.
I rendered the visuals into webp images and gifs, with a specified focus on wood textures for the "coloring."
The website is still a work in progress. Chris has been hiring me step-by-step to produce content as he is felt led and his budget allows.
Functionality
Host Communication
The site uses appropriate Wordpress and Woocommerce hooks to allow for communication to the theme
through the backend of wordpress.
Custom Content Boxes
I created tools to allow the user to edit text or images on the site without having to work around a plugin or code.
Malleable Design Architecture
The website is designed for customization. The number of planets, orbiting rings, planets on each ring, etc may be modified; the code with respond accordingly.
Marketing Collateral
Business Cards
Chris requested 3x3 business cards. Below are matted variants of the card on 32pt weight cardstock.
Chris also requested a traditional business card for a subsidiary organization he is a part of.
The Tactical Civics card was printed on a more traditional 16pt 130lbs glossy card.
Flyers
I created a traditional Flyers for Chris for marketing at a specified housing district. For that purpose, the
services were focused on housing development. Flyers were printed in house on a traditional 5x7 double-sided
glossy flyers at 9.5 mil 200gsm.
Conclusion
My work with Chris is on-going. He currently has me involved on several projects to include work on the website and various marketing collateral.
The website will continue to evolve as I work with Chris, future prospects include security protocol for pages and a personalized page customization & management system.
